The 14th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology (AMMST-14) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Nov. 26.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said Vietnam attaches special importance to the role of science and technology, considering it a breakthrough that decides the success of the national modernisation process in the next decade.

More foreign garment and textile investors are stitching up investment deals in Vietnam as production costs rise in China. Vietnam is no longer hanging off China’s coat-tails in the material world.

Last week, Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee licensed a joint venture between Pacific Vietnam Textile Limited and Crystal Corporation to build garment and textile complex at the cost of USD180 million.
